Obituary: Daniel Green Thurston was born in Old Eden, Delaware Co., OH, November 3, 1842; died at his home in Oxford Twp August 29, 1907 aged 64 yr 9 mo 26 da. He was the son of Norton and rebecca Jones Thurston, and the oldest of seven children, 5 of whom survive him. They are Mrs Sarah a Lytle, of Twin Falls, ID; Wm. Thurston of Delaware; Chas. N.Thurston and Mrs. Chas. McCurdy, of Marion and Mrs Frank Westbrook of Oxford Twp. He was married to Miss Barbara Ann Waldon, November 9, 1862. Of this union one daughter was born, who is Mrs. charles White of Oxford Twp. He has one grand daughter, Mrs. Henry Benedict. Their baby is the great grand child of the family. Mr. thurston was a successful veterinary physician. he united with the Wesleyan Methodist church after his marriage. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Old eden conducted by Rev. O. H. Ramsey of Delaware aided by Rev. H. R. Smith and Rev. C. A. Edington, pastor of the M. E. church. Death Notice: Mr. Daniel Thurston, a well known veterinary surgeon of the northern part of the county died Thursday at his home southeast of Ashley, after a short illness with congestion of the brain. He was 67 years of age. he leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs Charles White, who with her husband make theri home at the home of her parents. He is survived by two brother, William thurston of this city and C. N Thurson of Marion and Three sisters, Mrs C. H. McCurdy of Marion and Mrs Lytle of Idaho. The Funeral services will be held Sunday from the Old Eden Presbyterian church. The remains will be brought to the Oak Grove vault. Dalaware Gazette.
