Benjamin Hutchisson (1765-1852) was probably born in New Castle County, Delaware, the son of Gavin and Mary Vanhorn Hutchison. He married Mary Vance (d. 1789) in 1788. They had one daughter born in 1789. He married 2) Margaret Gance (1772-1841) daughter of Rudolph Gance of Middletown, Delaware. They had thirteen children, 1792-1815. children, 1792-1815. The family migrated to Hawkins County, Tennessee between 1792 and 1797. He died in Hawkins County. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Ohio, and elsewhere. The surname is spelled Hutchisson, Hutcherson, Hutchinson, Hutchison, etc.
