Livius Anneus BENEDICT

Livius A. Benedict was born February 26, 1834. He is a farmer and manufacturer of evaporated products and resides on Sunnyslope farm, Stantontown, Ohio. He has been married four times. His first wife was Penelope, daughter of James and Sarah V. Johnson, to whom he was married August 29, 1860. She died February 27, 1874. His second wife was Mary, daughter of William and Ruth Binns, to whom he was married June I8. 1879. She died February 19, 1884, aged forty four years. His third wife was Mary H., daughter of Aaron and Jane Kempton, to whom he was married February 17, 1886. She died April 6, 1893, aged forty' three years. His fourth wife was Rachel Johnson- Parker, widow of Elwood Parker, and daughter of James and Sarah V. Johnson, to whom he was married April 12, 1894. By his first marriage there were four sons:
(1) Charles Bowring; (2) Greenleaf W., born January 16, 1864: (3) Elbert Lancaster; (4) Walter Levering.
By his second marriage there was one daughter (5), Nellie Ruthanna.

Livius Benedict and his son, Elbert Benedict, ran a successful Sweet Corn Wrapping business called the Quaker Corn Company in Morrow Co, OH. This business employed many men and women until the 1920's.

Livius next married Mary BINNS on 18 Jun 1879. (Mary BINNS died on 19 Feb 1884.)

Livius next married Mary H. KEMPTON on 17 Feb 1886. (Mary H. KEMPTON was born on 30 Jan 1850, died on 6 Apr 1893 in Morrow Co., Ohio and was buried in Alum Creek Friends Cem., Morrow Co., Ohio.)
