Henry Baker and Samuel Snyder, both from Fairfield County, came about 1834, both locating north of the river. The latter settled on Section 8, and several of his children reside in the county.

Henry married Mary SPANGLER, daughter of Daniel SPANGLER and Anna Maria LOHNBERGER, on 18 May 1828 in Fairfield, Ohio, United States. (Mary SPANGLER was born on 11 Jun 1804 in York, Pennsylvania, USA and died on 11 Oct 1890 in Rising Sun, Wood, Ohio.)
