The will of William Foxe of the Rhodes, made 7 December 38 Elizabeth[1595], named his wife Margaret; the "erle of Derbie my lord and Mr;"sons John, William, Thomas, and Richard; daughters Anne Foxe andMargarett Fox; the wife of John Fox, and his son William; and Mr. Warrenof Poynton. [Chetham Society, 54: 113.]
Anne met her husband, John Bruen at a religious meeting in Manchester,England.
Anne was described as very amiable and beautiful. For a year after hermarriage, they dwelt at her mother's house at Rhodes, near Manchester,England, then moved to Bruen Stapleford, county Chester, England.
The funeral certificate of "John Bruen of Bruen Stableford, in the countyof Chester, Esquier, departed this mortall life the 18 January 1625 [-6],at his hall of Bruen Stableford, and was buried in Tarvin Church, in thecounty aforsayd" states he married 3 wives. The sayd defunct married tohis 2 wife, Anne, daughter to William Fox of Rodes, in the county ofLancaster, and hath yssue Samuell, Obadiah, and Kathrine Bruen, allunmarried [The Record Society of London, Volume VI, pages 50, 51].
Anne died after ten years of married life.
