Catharine was born November 25, 1809 in VA. She married John W. Conner. By 1844 (or before) they resided in or around Delaware Co., OH where their daughters Elizabeth and Harriet A. were born. Sarah Jane, another daughter was born earlier on December 31, 1832, but the location is not yet know. They may have had other children as well.
Between 1856-1858, they moved from Delware Co., OH to Jasper Co., IA along with their daughter Sarah Jane (and her husband Abyram Leonard), Elizabeth, and Harriet.
Either on the way or shortly after arrival, Sarah Jane (Conner) Leonard gave birth to her first child, then died 2 1/2 weeks later. The baby, named Sarah Jane after her mother, was raised by Catharine & John W. Conner. She married Cassa B. Stock when she grew to womanhood.
