Fri 14: (Mott Twp Hampton Franklin co IA)

Chored and took a hog to town to have it butchered. Stayed nearly all afternoon. Block (?) paid me $10 for the hog. Paid 30 cents for wood ashes , 25 cents for crackers at Spencers. In evening, Carrie James and Peter Sheets came. We had a pleasant visit and I got supper for them. They stayed until nearly 11 o'clock. Got two pictures at Upson's. Ordered 3 dozen more. Pleasant day.

From the journal of Elizabeth Jerusha (Mallory)Daniels (Henry Brown Daniels) who was a neighbor of the Sheets in 1887. Lizzie married Henry Daniels 4 Mar 1886 in Stephenson co Il. They were both from Stephenson co IL.

Lizzie had two young sons when she died of TB in 1891.
