Henry Sheets, with a large and grown-up family of sons and daughters, from Rockingham County, [sic Ala.] VA, settled in the woods upon a new farm in the northwestern part of the township, in the year 1834. He had seven sons: Solomon and Peter are deceased; Daniel, Benjamin and Jonathan live in Brown Township ; Benjamin owns a large grazing farm situated in Brown and Kingston Townships; Henry Sheets, Jr., owns a large farm in Kingston, near the old homestead, and the youngest son, Jacob Sheets, Esq., who for many years has been a Justice of the Peace, lives on the old homestead. The three last-named brothers are among the most enterprising and thrifty farmers in the county, and have done their full share of hard work in clearing up and improving their part of the township.
