Obituary of Isabella Wilson Ferguson Delaware Gazette Feb. 10, 1888
Mrs. Isabella Wilson Ferguson was born in Washington county, Penn, Oct. 22, 1822, died Feb. 2, 1888, aged 65 years, 3 months and 10 days. She was married to Allen Ferguson March 4, 1841. She was the oldest of a family of twelve children, eight of whom are living. She was the mother of nine children, and grandmother of nine grandchildren.... Forty years ago when Father and Mother Ferguson were young, they sought for a new home in some new country affording a better opportunity than was enjoyed in Pennsylvania. Leaving the dear old hills of Washington county and a host of still dearer friends, in a wagon, with three little children, they started for the rich, but then wild lands of Delaware, Ohio. For two weeks they urged their way over hills and valleys, across streams and through woods, to the place of their present home. It was the only place to make a home-"A log cabin, and two or three acres cleared, that was all."- From the thicket they hewed their present broad and rich acres. From timbers then in the wild forest they constructed their large and palatial residence, now one of the most pleasant farm homes in the county. by Rev. T. B. Atkins

Isabella married Allen FERGUSON, son of Robert FERGUSON and Lydia, on 4 Mar 1841. (Allen FERGUSON was born on 6 Oct 1815 in Washington Co., Pennyslvania, died on 28 Jan 1897 in Leonardsburg, Brown, Delaware, Ohio, USA and was buried in Green Mound Cem., Kilbourne, Delaware, Ohio, USA.)
