Obituary "Allen Ferguson, born Washington County Pa Oct. 6, 1815. Died near Leonardsburg, Ohio January 26, 1897 age 81 years 3 mo. 22ds. Son of Robert and Lydia Ferguson, youngest of 11 children, last of the family. Married Isabella Wilson Mar 4 1841. One child died in infancy, one at 19, seven living children.
About six years after their marriage they concluded to seek a new home in Ohio, where better opportunities offered for getting a home than were found among the hills of Western Pennsylvania. On the 6th day of September, 1847, they left their old home. They started in a wagon, with three small children and some personal effects, and journeyed over hills and valleys, across streams and through forests, reaching their destination in Delaware county Ohio, on the 17th day of Sept. the same year. They settled on the farm which is the place of their present home. There was a log cabin on the farm and only two or three acres of land cleared. The remaining part of the farm was a dense forest. The farm was gradually cleared and improved under the personal guidance of Mr. Ferguson himself. Other tracts of land were afterward purchased.
His grandparents came from Ireland and were of the Presbyterian faith. His parents were Presbyterians of the strictest order in regard to church observances and the keeping of the Sabbath. He was required to commit Catechism when a child. He was baptized in childhood but never united with a church in Ohio.
Feb. 2nd 1888 his wife died, after a union of about 47 years. His funeral services conducted by Rev. Griswold at his home. Remains in vault at Delaware."
Allen Ferguson built a fine, large house. This house burned in 1972 when owned by a Roberts family.

Allen married Isabella WILSON on 4 Mar 1841. (Isabella WILSON was born on 22 Oct 1822 in Washington Co., Pennyslvania, died on 2 Feb 1888 in Delaware Co., Ohio, United States and was buried in Green Mound Cem., Kilbourne, Delaware, Ohio, USA.)
