36. XVII. John Van Sickle, the second child of Peter and Rebecca, was born in Sussex Co., N. J., December 24, 1791, and was married in the same county on the 20th of April, 1814, to Susannah Wyker, by whom he had eight children ;
I. David, born June 13, 1815 ;
II Elizabeth, born June 14, 1818 ;
III. Peter, born April 8, 1820;
IV. Mary, born March 7, 1822;
V. Esther, born Dec. 30, 1824, who married John Knox ;
VI, William W., born Sep. 2, 1827 ;
VII. Drusilla, born Oct. 14, 1830; and
VIII. Susan Jane, born Sep. 29, 1835.
In the autumn of 1816, he removed to Ohio, and settled in Delaware County, where he did the work of a pioneer, and where he owned a farm on which he resided until his death, which occurred May 24, 1873. His wife, Susannah, was born Sep. 22, 1796, and died June 4, 1874.
