Will of Sebeus Main - Bill Book 3, pages 149-150 Washington County,
Virginia dated 10 nov 1809 - copy of will sent in by Walter R. Ashwill
and Glenn E. Main. This will gives: Hannah a good maintenance her life
time; Timothy - 1/2 of the place whereon he now lives with his paying
Patience Jones fifty dollars in trade; Sebeus Jr. - the other 1/2 with
his paying Eunice Jones fifty dollars in trade; Eleazer and John - the
home place and they are to pay Hannah and Dorcus one hundred dollars a
piece but these my childern must be raised on this place; Jonas and Lyman
and Thos - my mountain lands to wit five hundered and ninety acres and
the other is to be sold to pay part of the debts and the boys to pay
equal share of the debts; also they are to have equal share in the Mills
- 10 Nov 1809.

North Stonington Ct. Mar 23, 1757. Moved to New York and about 1780 to Virginia where he died 1809.
From 1880 Delaware County History p 526"Sabeers Main was born in the State of Connecticut before the Revolutionary War, and although never a resident of this township (Troy) or even of Ohio, yet he was represented with numerous descendants here, in the early settlement. He was a little under age when the war for freedom commenced, but determined to enlist which he did, and was assigned to the army under Gen. Greene. After being with Greene for some time, the regiment he was with was placed under Gen. Putnam. He served in the capacity of a spy, often penetrating the British lines for the purpose of gaining information for his commanding officer. After the close of the was he married Hannah Cole a native of New York, and moved to Virginia where he died. He left a widow and several children"
