Great Grandmother.
BIOGRAPHY: Ora Belle was the youngest daughter of ten children born to Daniel Sheets on Feb. 2, 1867. The Sheets family had long been residents of Brown & Kingston Townships of Delaware County Ohio. Daniel was the son of Henry Sheets Sr.. Daniel was born on Oct.17,1815, in Augusta Co. Virginia and moved to Delaware County in 1835. The Sheets family tree and information on Daniel & Eunis Sheets will be included prior to this chapter. I must take time to retell a story told to me by my father, John Clay. He remembers,when he was still young and living at home, wanting a pair of black leather basketball shoes, which must have been expensive and the "in" thing at that time. Ora Belle bought them for him and he loved them,until the day they were stolen from his locker. He also remembers the time when Ora Belle, at an advanced age was in the woods, behind the house,when she tripped and broke her leg. She crawled all the way to the house before anyone knew what had happened. Dad also remembers being in Glenn's house on Sandusky St. in Delaware, when Norton died. I talked with Ellen (Kunze) McNichols at a Sheets family reunion that remembered that her and her mother went to get Ora Belle to take her to a Presbyterian Womens Aid Society meeting. They found her dead, all dressed and ready to go. The Clay family , daily tread in their footsteps.
